HUL support to Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka flood victims

October 16, 2009, Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) along with all the employees will be contributing Rs. 1 crore (cash / kind) each to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for flood relief operations. To provide immediate relief to the victims, essential items such as salt, atta (wheat flour), tea, detergent and soap will be distributed in both the states.
The relief work is being coordinated with the help of company's sales colleagues, depot staff and key retail stockists of the company in the region. HUL's Chennai office has got in touch with the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka to identify an appropriate use of the monetary contribution to suit the critical needs of the affected people.
