- Unique dual hll & Unilever stock grant scheme
Mumbai, Dec 22, 2000: Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) is introducing a unique Stock Grant Scheme (SGS), linked to the share performance of both HLL and the parent company, Unilever PLC, with effect from 2001. This is the first time in India that such a dual scheme, involving local company stocks and shadow (also known as 'phantom') parent company stocks, has been launched.

The Board of Directors of Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) has fixed 18th July, 2000 as the record date to sub-divide each existing share of Rs. 10/- of the Company into 10 new shares of Rs. 1/- each. The Resolution approving the division of the nominal value of the equity shares of the Company was adopted at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 25th April, 2000.

Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) has recorded a Profit After Tax of Rs 262.61 crores in the quarter ending March 31, 2000, an increase of 23.4 % over the corresponding period of 1999. HLL's turnover at Rs 2614.07 crores (net of excise), grew by 7.1 %. Earnings Per Share (EPS) on an annualised basis is Rs 47.73, recording a growth of 23.1 % over the EPS of Rs 38.77 of MQ 1999.

Mr. K.B. Dadiseth, Chairman, Hindustan Lever Limited, has been nominated as a Director and a Member of the Executive Committee of Unilever PLC and Unilever NV. Mr. Dadiseth’s name will be recommended to Unilever shareholders for election at their annual general meetings in London and Rotterdam on May 3, 2000.
