HLL shareholders approve transfer of Sewri undertaking

Mumbai: The Shareholders of Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) have approved the resolutions to transfer it's Sewri undertaking, Mumbai to one of its subsidiaries and functionalised biopolymers business including manufacturing facilities at Pondicherry to a third party or a subsidiary.

KARVY TAKING OVER AS HLL’S REGISTRARS & TRANSFER AGENTS

Karvy Computershare Private Limited is taking over as Hindustan Lever Limited’s (HLL) Registrars and Transfer Agents effective July 16, 2004, as had been reported in HLL’s Report & Accounts, 2003. HLL’s Investor Services Department will handle work related to the Bonus Debentures, till their final redemption in January 2005.

HLL COMPLETES DISPOSAL OF MUSHROOMS BUSINESS

Hindustan Lever Limited ( HLL) has completed the disposal of it's 100% shareholding in KICM ( Madras) Limited to two non-resident Indians ( NRI's) namely Mr Ramana Epparla and Mrs Siva Epparla after receiving necessary approvals from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), Govt of India and Reserve Bank of India. Earlier, HLL had entered in to a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) with these NRI's for disposal of the mushrooms business effective from August 1, 2003.

HLL’S M.S.BANGA TO HEAD UNILEVER’S US$ 6-BILLION HPC BUSINESS IN ASIA

The Chairman of Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), Mr. M.S. Banga, has been concurrently appointed Business Group President of Unilever’s US$ 6-billion Home & Personal care (HPC) business in Asia, effective July 1, 2004. Mr. Banga will continue as Chairman of HLL’s Board. In his combined role he will continue to provide strategic leadership and operational direction to HLL.
