HUL’s Nashik factory awarded for food safety

At the 13th CII Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Summit & Awards ceremony held recently, Hindustan Unilever Limited’s (HUL) factory in Nashik received the award for ‘Outstanding Performance in Food Safety’ in the ‘Large Manufacturing Food Businesses – Milk & Milk Products’ category.

The award ceremony was graced by several industry leaders including, Mr Pawan Kumar Agarwal (CEO, FSSAI), Ms Rita Teotia (Chairperson, FSSAI), Ms Mariam Eid (Vice Chairperson, Codex Alimentarius Commission), the Director General of CII and President CII.

A rigorous three-day audit was carried out by an expert panel from the CII. The committee reviewed the various actions taken by the unit to ensure maximum food safety in manufacturing and maintain product quality.

This recognition is a testimony to HUL’s stringent food safety and quality processes in manufacturing.

As part of Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) National Initiative SurakshitKhadya Abhiyan, (in English - Movement for Safe Food for All) CII's Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) in partnership with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) jointly organised the Annual Flagship Event of 2018, the ‘13th Food Safety & Quality Summit’ during 13 – 14 December 2018 in New Delhi. The theme of the Summit was Managing Product Integrity, Regulatory and Food Safety Solutions in the Food Chain for Consumer Health and Safety.
