HUL mourns the untimely demise of Prof. C.K. Prahalad

HUL mourns the demise of Prof. C.K. Prahalad, a leading light in the world of management and a Non- Executive independent Director of the Company.

Prof. C K Prahalad, non - executive independent director of Hindustan Unilever Limited since April 2000 and a leading light in the world of management has passed away after a brief illness. He was 68. 

Prof. Prahalad was also a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee of HUL.

Prof. Prahalad was the Paul and Ruth McCracken Distinguished University Professor of Strategy at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. His research specialises in corporate strategy and the role and value added of top management in large, diversified, multinational corporations. He was widely acknowledged across the world as the foremost management thinker.

In 2009, Prof. Prahalad was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third highest civilian honour, for his contribution in the field of literature and education. 

The HUL family expresses its deep grief at the untimely loss. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Prof. Prahalad.
