Unilever Sustainable Living Plan launched

Speaking at the launch event in New Delhi, Harish Manwani, President, Asia Africa, CEE, Unilever and Chairman, Hindustan Unilever Limited, said, “The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan represents a bold vision to not only grow our business but also make a significant difference to all the stakeholders of the company and the society at large”.

Harish Manwani also announced the launch of the company’s low-cost in-home water purifier, Pureit, in Bangladesh and Indonesia. 

The launch also included a panel discussion on 'Can Consumption Become Sustainable?’ It evoked active participation from panel members as well as participants which consisted of key opinion formers from NGOs, Associations, Corporates, Media, Business Partners of Hindustan Unilever and others. 

Panelists included Hon’ble Minister for Corporate Affairs Mr. SalmanKhurshid, Planning Commission Member Mr. Arun Maira, Dean of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Dr. Peter Piot and Managing Director, Population Services International, India Mr. Dana Ward. Ms. Malini Mehra, Member, Unilever Sustainability Council moderated the panel discussion.

Hon’bleMinister for Corporate Affairs Mr. SalmanKhurshid also spoke on the occasion. He was appreciative of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and said that it was a wonderful example of how corporates can make a positive difference through voluntary action.
