HUL contributes Rs.50 lakh to support AP flood victims

HUL has committed to contribute Rs. 50 lakh for relief and rehabilitation of thousands of people affected by the recent devastating floods in Andhra Pradesh.

A cheque of Rs.25 lakhs was handed over by a Hindustan Unilever representative on December 11, 2012 to Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N Kiran Kumar Reddy. This money has been given as contribution to Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Andhra Pradesh. In addition to this, HUL will provide products, household items, food kits and rehabilitation material worth Rs.25 lakhs.

HUL as a responsible company decided to support the flood victims on request from the Office of The Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

HUL has always been at the forefront in its call for national duty and has always contributed generously for disaster relief works which is in line with its philosophy of “Doing Well by Doing Good”. In 2009 also HUL had contributed a sum of Rs.30 lakhs to the Chief Ministers’ Flood Relief Fund, Andhra Pradesh. This was in addition to contribution of products worth Rs.30 lakhs which was distributed to flood affected people.
