To promote mobile-based skill courses for women in India

HUL's Fair and Lovely (FAL) Foundation signed an agreement with NSDC-affiliates NIIT and English Edge to leverage their knowledge and content expertise to create a mobile-based skills education platform for women in India

FAL Foundation’s initiative will contribute to Government of India’s Skill India Mission and fulfill the ambitious women’s empowerment goals of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), aligned to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality. Poor access to skill-based training courses is a key reason for women’s lower participation in the workforce in India. Mobile courses will help address multiple barriers to access including distance, time and cost.

Present at the signing were Mr. Udai Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, NIIT Limited; Mr. Sanjiv Mehta, CEO, HUL; Mr. Vivek Agarwal, CEO, English Edge and Mr. Jayant Krishna, CEO, National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC)
