Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) was declared the Corporate Citizen of the Year 2018 on 6th September, 2018. The award will be presented at the Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence later this year.

A jury comprising eminent business leaders recognised HUL’s approach to sustainable growth and its focus on programmes that have improved the lives of millions of people across India.

The award bears testimony to HUL’s motto of doing well by doing good, its purpose-driven brands and values-led people. It acknowledges HUL’s commitment to making sustainable living commonplace.

Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited said, "It gives me immense pleasure to learn about Hindustan Unilever Limited being chosen as The Economic Times Corporate Citizen of the Year 2018. Our history has been one of growth powered by ideas, people and a strong sense of purpose."

" It was the purpose that drove us, profits followed. Today, when 9 out of 10 Indian households use our products, we believe that our brands can bring about positive change. That is why, we are increasingly embedding purpose into all our brands so that they can become a force for social good."
