Every year, the Kumbh Mela has a variety of events and activities that bring devotees from all over together in one place. Women devotees too throng in large numbers at the Holy Sangam for taking the traditional holy dip. However, these women are placed in an uncomfortable position as their clothes get wet after the dip.

Hamam, a brand that helps women #GoSafeOutside, extended its mission to the Kumbh Mela 2019. Its first initiative was to sponsor ‘women only’ changing rooms at the ghats. But soon it was recognised that this was not enough, because women had to walk till the changing rooms in their wet sarees.

To come up with a better and more effective solution, the brand Hamam presented waterproof sarees to the women. These sarees are the same traditional saree designed in a yellow colour, but with a simple layer of waterproofing that ensures the saree does not get wet. This waterproof saree is an ideal clothing option for female devotees taking a dip at the Holy Sangam.

The Hamam waterproof saree was made available to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, which is one of the five most important Shahi Snan dates.
