Committed to reducing plastic waste

At Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), reducing plastic is a top priority and we are constantly working towards providing innovative solutions. Under ‘Project Prabhat’ we launched a unique Initiative in Hari Ashray colony near our Haridwar manufacturing location.

Through this Initiative, we will ensure collection of plastic at the household and community level. All the waste collected will be put into a Rebot plastic compression machine, created by Wild West Innovations. The machine also provides rewards for individual users in the form of Paytm coupons.

All compressed plastic including multilayer plastic (MLP) will be sent to authorised recyclers who will then use it for various purposes such as making t-shirts, scarves, furniture and even as raw material for building roads.

We look forward to scaling up this initiative and contributing to the challenge of plastic waste in our country in a big way.
