HUL & Star Bazaar recognised at ECR Asia Pacific Conference

Hindustan Unilever Limited and Star Bazaar, part of Trent Hypermarket Limited, won the silver award at the recently held 13th ECR Asia Pacific Conference in Singapore.

This is a remarkable achievement as this is the first time, in the history of ECR (Efficient Consumer Response), any retailer-supplier team from India has been recognized with an award by ECR Asia Pacific. There were a total of 28 project nominations from across Asia Pacific and Star Bazaar & HUL were the only nominee from India.

HUL & Star Bazaar have been conferred with the ‘Creating Consumer Value through Joint Promotional and Event Forecasting’ award for high degree of collaboration between the retailer-supplier teams thus creating value for the customer. This project has led to an increase in ‘On shelf availability’, dramatically ‘higher service levels on promotional items’, ‘lower stock days’ – all helping Star Bazaar being rated as No. 1 by shoppers on price perception.

Efficient Consumer Response Asia Pacific (ECR AP) is an independent joint trade and industry body, which promotes the use of Efficient Consumer Response techniques in Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) retailing to remove unnecessary costs from the supply chain and make the sector, as a whole, more responsive to consumer demand.
