To stimulate economic development and reduce poverty, HUL sources locally grown products. Overcoming several barriers such as lack of quality consistency, availability of produce, and price volatility, our sustainable sourcing initiatives have helped us enhance the livelihoods of small-scale farmers.
HUL has always believed in 'doing well by doing good.' In 1976, we helped set up Asha Daan – a home in Mumbai for abandoned and differently-abled children, HIV-positive people, and the destitute.
A first-of-its-kind community hygiene and sanitation centre set up in the slums of Mumbai which provide access to clean toilets, affordable drinking water and laundry services.
Prabhat is the sustainable community development initiative of HUL, that is linked to Unilever Compass. It builds on local community needs at a grassroot level, in line with India’s development agenda and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Hindustan Unilever Foundation (HUF) was set up in 2010 to support and amplify scalable solutions that can help address India’s water challenges – specifically for rural communities that intersect with agriculture.
